Bio

I am a former forensic accountant, investigating what you might call “creative accounting.” Meanwhile, I started my serious creative career in photography. Before the advent of the digital camera, I shot black and white on film and developed it in my darkroom (which was really a spare bedroom and bath). I began shooting digital in 2010 and haven’t returned to film, even though it was my first love.

Since 2010, with a growing and changing collection of photo gear, I have traveled with my husband to all seven continents. We have also made many road trips in the U.S. and Canada. In addition to amazing photo opportunities, the various locations have provided me with enlightening and often amusing stories, which I have shared with you on this site.

Aside from selling prints on my website, I have participated in local photography exhibits, including several with Orange County Fine Arts and the Orange County Fair. I will post any upcoming exhibits here at Creative Visual Journeys.

I started my blog, pkphotooftheday.com, in 2013. I post images and share information about my photography there with friends, family, and many other creative bloggers around the world. Engaging online with a global community of other photographers and artists has been a great source of inspiration and has even resulted in some real-life friendships.

I am a contributor to iStock by Getty Images and have licensed a small portfolio for commercial and editorial use. You can view my stock portfolio at istock.com under the name PK Visual Journeys.
